Phil Golson, Tuba
Dr. Golson holds degrees from Bob Jones University and the University of South Carolina (USC). He teaches at Clearwater Christian College in Clearwater, FL, where he directs the CCC Orchestra and Brass Ensemble. Prior to his current appointment, Phil taught at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse (UWL), Viterbo University (WI) and USC. Additionally, Dr. Golson has been involved in music education at the Middle and High school levels. Appearances on tuba or euphonium include the LaCrosse Chamber Brass, LaCrosse Symphony Orchestra, UWL Symphony Orchestra, Florida Fanfare Brass and the Willson Tuba Quartet. Phil maintains a profile as a performer/clinician and adjudicator locally, regionally, and abroad. Dr. Golson has traveled extensively, concertizing in the United Kingdom, Thailand, and South Africa. His ability as a conductor was recognized by the US Air Force Officer Conducting Program, where he was named a national finalist.
